I am chronically envious! It disheartens me to hear about things that I'd want to happen to me. This doesn't necessarily mean I don't want to hear about your accomplishments or lucky draws, but it could affect me a bit more than you'd think. Just keeping it in mind is all I'll ask. This especially (and embarrassingly) applies to relationships!

My favorite color is red! It was a few shades of blue for a long while.

It started out as cyan; I was assigned to color myself as a police officer in early elementary, but because I loved Super Mario so much, I thought I'd color it as a Super Mario self-insert. That's embarrassing, I'm aware, but I never acted on the character I designed. I only let the color persist as my favorite.

That was so, until I realized a few years later that a bright, neon cyan was actually kind of ugly. I redeveloped it into a more bluer shade of blue over time, still retaining the bright aspect in the back of my mind; if i had an option between blue and bright blue, I'd pick bright blue.

Eventually, I became less picky (or more generic, if you see it that way) about my favorite shade of blue and simply answered 'blue' when asked what my favorite color was. Light shade, saturated, whatever, s'long as it was blue.

Now, since my hyper-obsession with the zoologist, my favorite color skewed my interest toward red, putting blue in second for me. I've come to terms with the idea that choosing a highly specific flavor of color isn't cringe, so--and despite the zoologist's hair being more hued toward orange--I decided my favorite color was a more magenta-based red.
